Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix is Danish motorsport’s flagship. CHGP is a racing heart of Copenhagen – with action, drama and full speed. Entertainment for the whole family. It is here we have a great weekend in August each year celebrating historic racecars and famous racing drivers, especially our Danish icons, but also foreign stars.
CHGP is also a cultural story about car racing’s development from childhood to motor sport contemporary innovative electric and hybrid cars.
Besides the race there is plenty of activity on the inner circle. Company events, exhibitions, motoring clubs, accessories, restaurants, bookstore and food and beverage stalls and children’s playground.
We are in CHGP proud to have HRH Prince Joachim as a patron, and Tom Kristensen and Jackie Oliver as ambassadors.
Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix for the whole family.
When the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix takes place on 4 and 5 August in Copenhagen park in Copenhagen, this is a real family event. There are a myriad of events for both old, young – and the very youngest.
CHGP invite for free children under 14 years, according to adults within the Grand Prix. The invitation is general entrance tickets and thus can, for example. a parents with 2 kids get to race in a Copenhagen park just 600 Dkk. Given that it is a whole-day event, it is a really cheap deals
For the smallest is a fine place children with bouncy castles, for the slightly older market stalls with everything your heart could desire of motor sports souvenirs, there is a real cafe area on the lawn and in addition to the two good lunch restaurants, Racing Club and the Classic Club, there is good eating stalls everywhere, so everyone can have a good day in the park.
Living people and “live” vehicles
The Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix is a real family event, experience from previous years. Grand Prix is a good opportunity for parents to give children an insight into how the cars looked like when mom and dad were young. Unlike museums, this is the correct action with live people and “live” cars.
There is a tradition that it is not only exciting classic cars will be aired on the 2-kilometer-long racetrack in Fælledparken, but also legendary racing drivers, which shakes the dust off it, get into the cockpit, or sit behind the wheel of the old racers and beat himself loose as they did when they and the cars were still quite young – it is simply pure nostalgia!
Something for all
There is still some time for the filing period ends, but out on the pavement you will get to experience classic MG TC’ere, Lotus Cortina v Mini and the big Ford Falcons in the 65-class, where HRH Prince Joachim participant. There will be lightning fast Porsches against BMW, Ford and Opel.
Royal ProAm is over, where HRH Prince Joachim and her other talented amateurs sharing cars with some of both Danish and international motor sports biggest names.
