With ambassador Jan Magnussen at the lead ”Race for Riget” managed to raise a record sum of 599.000 DKK and the funds are donated in full to the Children and Youth Program at “Rigshospitalet”.

The charity event ”Race for Riget” is an invaluable element at Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix. During the historic race weekend, the audience can purchase a passenger spot next to a professional racecar driver, who offers them a breathless ride around Bellahøj Park in a potent super sports car.

This year was no exception. Ambassador Jan Magnussen was at the front of a long line of Danish racing profiles. Along with him in the paddock the 4-times Le Mans-winner had company by the 9-times Le Mans-winner Tom Kristensen, Denmark’s first Le Mans-winner John Nielsen, Formula 1-driver Kevin Magnussen, Porsche factory driver Michael Christensen, Christoffer Nygaard and Marco Sørensen from Team Young Driver, Ferrari driver Mikkel Mac and touring car pilot Michel Nykjær.

And true to tradition, with the support of Sportscar Event, ”Race for Riget” managed to gather a remarkable and on Danish ground, unique collection of the most sought-after super sports cars in the world and in these fascinating models, car lovers and enthusiasts were assured a driving experience out of the ordinary.

”Race for Riget has in few years developed into a really good tradition, which not only racecar drivers but also the audience supports,” says Ambassador Jan Magnussen.

”The best thing about Race for Riget is that it gives something to all of us. Those who purchase the ticket get an experience, they will never forget and the local hospital gets a helping hand to maintain and develop the Children and Youth Program.”

And 2015 beat all records. I total we raised 599.000 DKK to this good charity, which exceeds last year’s record sum by more than 150.000 DKK and the large check was handed over to Charlotte Blix, daily coordinator of the Children and Youth Program at Rigshospitalet and Bubber, ambassador for the Children and Youth Program, by ambassador Jan Magnussen.

”With this year’s contribution, Race for Riget has in just 6 years donated close to 1,8 million DKK to Rigshospitalet, and I am of course very proud to represent such an initiative,” says the ambassador.
