Drivers’ registration for CHGP 2019 is now open

By registering before March 31st, drivers benefit from a fabulous ”Early Bird”-offer, providing major discounts on drivers’ registration for Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix this summer.

In 2018, more than 42.000 guests visited Bellahøj Park, and at Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix they experienced over 200 participants as the main ingredient of the historic motorsports weekend. The vast number of drivers and their impressive vehicles is an indispensable part of the major cultural event of the year and they contribute to making CHGP an exciting experience for the entire family.

True to tradition, Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix opened the drivers’ registration shortly after New Year. All entries made before March 31st, 2019 cost DKK 2.625 only. During the period between April 1st and June 30th the registration fee for Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix will be of DKK 3.425. If registration is made between July 1st and 15th, the fee for entering the 2019-version of CHGP will be of DKK 3.925.

The registration fee covers one vehicle, one driver and 3 x 6 meters of space in the Paddock as well as equivalent space for a repair truck. Additional space in the Paddock of 3 x 6 meters can be purchased for a price of DKK 1.875. Furthermore, this year participants will receive TWO entry bracelets, one for the driver AND one for either a guest or a mechanic, valid the entire weekend, plus access to free power supply during the entire event.

As always, the program for Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix includes many historic classes spiced up by a modern feature. This year, Super GT Denmark will visit CHGP and the modern series will strengthen the program even more. Super GT Denmark will be part of Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix for the first time ever in 2019, and its promotor expects that more than 20 cars will gather at the starting line of the Copenhagen street race.

The top tuned race cars of the Super GT-class have been specially built in France on the base of a pipe frame construction. The power is delivered by a potent V6-engine, and the series is renowned for its furious races with close duels and tons of take-overs whenever its participants collide.

Among the historic features at Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix is the ever-popular Sixty-Fivers class, where historic race cars before 1965 are represented. The class has grown enormously in popularity and during the last couple of years, the class has been full several months before CHGP. This is the reason why the class has been divided into two classes this year, one for TC and one for GT-vehicles.

Two other popular classes, present at Bellahøj Park in 2019, will be the 1971-class and the 1986-class. Now, only a single week after registrations started, 50% of the 1971-class is already full.  This year, CHGP also expects a  record-breaking number of registrations for the Formula Junior-class. The class consists of a gorgeous mix of Formula-racers built shortly after WW2.

Last, but not least, the popular Royal Pro/Am will – of course – be present on both Saturday and Sunday. At Royal Pro/Am, a professional race driver teams up with a skilled amateur driver in his/her historic race car and the race is known to be one of the most thrilling and entertaining races of the weekend.
