During Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix on August 3rd and 4th 2019, some of the best Danish race drivers and their colleagues put on their driver’s suits to collect money for Race for Charity, where the audience are offered the opportunity to purchase a thrilling passenger ride.
Race for Charity is a recurrent event at Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix as well as an amazing opportunity for the audience to get up close and personal with the professional race drivers. For one hour, on both Saturday and Sunday, the visitors at Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix can purchase a ride on the exciting race track and the entire amount collected is donated in full to charity.
Race for Charity took place for the first time back in 2010, and since then, nearly 3,5 million Danish kroner have been donated to charity. This year, all funds collected will be donated in full to the Children and Youth Program at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen General Hospital.
The 4-fold Le Mans-winner Jan Magnussen is ambassador for Race for Charity, but the Danish race driver is racing in the US for Corvette Racing this exact weekend. Luckily, Race for Charity also has Tom Kristensen as ambassador, as well as the new World Champion, Porsche factory driver Michael Christensen, and a long line of other prominent race drivers including Ferrari driver Mikkel Mac, Michelle Gatting, Ronnie Bremer and lots more.
Tickets for Race for Charity can be purchased during the race weekend in the paddock area R2. Ticket sales start on both Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. from the Race for Charity (Race for Riget) ticket booth. The tickets come in three categories: Bronze tickets at DKK 1500, Silver tickets at DKK 2000 and Gold tickets at DKK 3000. In both the silver and gold category you will have the opportunity to pick your favourite driver – as long as tickets are available.
So if your dream is to sit next to Tom Kristensen, Michael Christensen or one of the other Danish race stars, Race for Charity is a once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity. If you hesitate too long, they will leave the pit with someone else…
