The revealing of the CHGP poster 2017

True to tradition, Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix has a visual eye-catching CHGP poster, as a tribute to the historic motor race held on August 5th and 6th at Bellahøj Park.

As usual the annual poster for Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix encapsulates the essence of the historic motorsport weekend in Copenhagen in a narrative picture. The motive will all at the same time be both involving and set the stage for the classic motor race at Bellahøj Park.

Since 1996, when the historic racing engines for the first time could be heard in the streets of Copenhagen, the “This years CHGP” –poster has reflected the content of the summer’s upcoming event. From the start on the cobblestones in front of Christiansborg Castle in 1996, to the former military area of Holmen, through Fælledparken and now Bellahøj Park where CHGP in 2017 for the fifth consecutive year, bid enthusiasts and audiences welcome to a speed celebration for the whole family on August 5th and 6th.

Throughout the years the CHGP poster has carried illustrations of many different motives. The historic race cars are a recurring theme, and while individual posters just had a single race car as key motif; most posters are designed with a central motif complemented by other supplementary subjects in the background.

Many will nod in recognition to the beautiful Aston Martin-racer in British Racing Green on the CHGP poster. The car with start number #95 is known by both Danish and international racing fans for the many years of participation in international GT racing. Behind the car, is the Danish Young Driver team, in collaboration with Aston Martin Racing, who has achieved impressive results over the years.

Latest in 2016, where Young Driver AMR with the team’s two Danish racing pilots, Marco Sørensen and Nicki Thiim, won the world championship and the team championship in the GTE Pro class in the prestigious FIA World Endurance Championship series (FIA WEC)

It was the second time the Danish racing team got Dannebrog hoisted to the top of the World Cup series. Three years ago, the team won in addition to a class victory at Le Mans also the World Cup in GTE Am class in FIA WEC.

In addition to CHGP ambassador Tom Kristensen and several other professional racers, this summer’s CHGP event will be visited by the newly crowned world champions Marco Sørensen and Nicki Thiim, who along with team owner Jan Struve have just been presented with the 2017 poster at a small festivity at Hotel Comwell Kongebrogården.

The many racing stars are an annual attraction at CHGP and create great joy with within the organization who continuously and focused are working to make an international sports arena available, where the public and racing fans up close can celebrate, and experience the many European and World champions, that we have in Denmark within the “sport” of motor racing.

During the CHGP weekend, the brand’s world titles will also be honored by an exclusive Aston Martin show with several special Aston Martin models.

This year’s CHGP poster also contains a reference to the many other historic motor classes, who are racing at CHGP, including Formula Junior and the Danish DTC series, whose thundering American racing cars completes the experience of racing from “when dad was a boy,” until now.
