Since Copenhagen in 1996, the year of culture, first put down asphalt for Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix, the many classic racing classes, and it’s prestigious Royal Pro-Am Race has developed into a draw for all age groups, and CHGP is a unique opportunity not only for citizens of Copenhagen, but for Denmark’s entire population, to experience both historic and modern motorsport racing in surroundings, which also include a large children and family area with fun activities as well as booths and car shows.

In addition to the historical classes and special arranged show races, the audience will also for next year’s Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix, be able to again experience modern motorsport in the form of Danish Thundersport Championship, which in 2016 with great success, ran a full counting championship division, during this traditional racing weekend.

It has also become a tradition that the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix is the meeting point for the best Danish racing stars, who during the race weekend both participate in race shows, but also in charity event races such as Race for Riget, where the audience has the opportunity to buy a passagenger ride around Bellahoj Park next a racing driver.

In addition to CHGP-ambassador Tom Kristensen and other professional race drivers, the 2017 event will be visited by the newly crowned world champions Marco Sorensen and Nicki Thiim, who have just won the FIA WEC with Aston Martin Young Driver AMR. For this purpose the CHGP organization has also started working on bringing the winning car to Copenhagen, so that guests and spectators can study and experience the beautiful Aston Martin race car up close. During the CHGP weekend, the brand’s world titles will also be honored by an exclusive Aston Martin show with several special Aston Martin models.
